Add your voice
Every Microsoft alum has a story to tell of innovation, challenges, and triumphs. We invite you to share your journey as part of the Microsoft Alumni Voices initiative. Your experiences, insights, and contributions are an integral part of Microsoft’s legacy, and by sharing your story, you’ll help inspire future generations of innovators and leaders.
Microsoft Alumni Voices criteria
Microsoft Alumni Voices represents a wide range of perspectives and experiences. We have two ways to share stories: nominate an alumni or submit your own video.

Interviews are selected based on the following criteria:

-
Former full-time employees. While we value the contributions of everyone who worked for and with Microsoft, this initiative will confine itself to collecting the oral histories of former Microsoft full-time employees.
-
Willingness and readiness to be interviewed. Some individuals are naturally outgoing, like to talk about their experiences, and do not mind saying things for the record. Others are quite reluctant. Experience shows that talking someone into being interviewed usually does not result in a successful interview.
-
Health of the potential interviewee. The potential interviewee should be healthy enough to sit for an interview and answer questions for a minimum of two hours. The interview will be conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
-
Experiences that are relatively less well documented. There are many individuals who have been interviewed, and their stories are documented well. Our aim as we move the initiative forward is to gather stories beyond the C-Suite. We seek to give voice to former Microsoft employees from around the world who contributed to major milestones in Microsoft’s history and in doing so helped change the world.
-
Ability to put your personal contributions in context of the company, industry and word history. In preserving these stories, it’s important to not just explain what a person did at the company but also put it into context of why it was innovative, why it mattered and how — in that time and place — it shifted the paradigm of how people worked and played. Microsoft alumni changed the world, we want to paint that picture.
